About Green Lava Coaching

Hello! My name is Regan La Testa, founder of Green Lava Coaching. Welcome. If you’re like me you know what it’s like to have a really great career, really great kids, great friends, hobbies, and interests, yet wonder why having it all, doesn’t really feel that great.

With all this greatness comes the demands of your schedule, demands from relationships, and spreading yourself too thin. Throw in an unexpected obstacle, such as a sick child or financial hardships, and the mounting pressure of keeping a perfectly balanced life can make you feel as if you’re underperforming in all areas. Quite possibly – like a volcano ready to explode!

Friends, I’ve been there. I’ve been that volcano, about to erupt, too. 

But just like you, I was unwilling to let the hot discontentment boil below the surface and threaten to take out everything I had worked so hard for. I knew there was a better way.

While enjoying a successful law career at one of the country’s biggest firms, I was also raising three daughters, supporting my husband in his professional endeavors, and was an active participant in various volunteer programs. The balancing act was already performed with no margin for error. Then my daughters got sick. Their chronic illnesses required endless doctor visits, check-ups, absences from school, and thus, my absence from work. Next came the financial hardships, feelings of guilt, the loss of a sense of self, and the strain on relationships. I was losing control of what I had worked so hard to achieve.

I tried therapy and support groups, soul searching, and just plain sucking it up. Some things helped, and some did not. While searching for a better solution to manage all the complexities of my career and home life, I discovered an absolute lack of options that didn’t center on just talking to someone about my problems. It seemed like there was no plan of action, and certainly not one that didn’t involve a professional like me giving up a piece of myself as the only way to care for my family.

I needed, and other parents in similar situations need, a strategy that used the skills we already possessed to gain clarity for a plan moving forward. That shift in mindset helped me focus on finding the right tools to step into my goals instead of away from them, and kept me aligned with my values and authentic self.

Through that experience, I discovered my passion for helping others create a life full of meaning and satisfaction, whether in the corporate arena or in their personal life. I founded Green Lava Coaching to help people just like you break free of overwhelm and experience fulfillment.
